Learn Why We Adore Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, often called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. Despite typically weighing 7 pounds or less, Yorkies carry a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Even so, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the strong bond they form with their family. To top it off, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They adjust easily to life with most families. Reputable Yorkie breeders are hard to come by in the Charleston, West Virginia area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's the reason we take so much pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Charleston. Our mission is to help every family find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Makes Our Puppies Stand Out

When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, we do things the right way at The Puppy House. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Every dog here gets great care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

All our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises we do in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it helps build good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. They get plenty of time to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.

We invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That gives you the chance to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. We enjoy gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Delivery and Pickup Options for Charleston, West Virginia Families

Pickup at the farm. Most of West Virginia is close enough that we suggest this first. From Charleston, Sugarcreek is 148 miles away, a drive of 2 to 4 hours, which makes for a manageable day. Coming in person means you see the facilities, meet the parents when they're available, and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and the health guarantee sitting at the table with us instead of over the phone. Visits run by appointment, so nobody is out in the barn when you pull in.

Home delivery by ground transport. If the drive doesn't fit your week, a professional pet transport service brings the puppy to your door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with updates along the way. Anywhere in West Virginia is a flat $350, and that holds across Kanawha County, in Charleston as much as in , including Huntington WV, Beckley WV, Teays Valley WV, South Charleston WV, St. Albans WV, Cross Lanes WV, Oak Hill WV, Dunbar WV, Hurricane WV, Nitro WV, Sissonville WV, Summersville WV, Pinch WV, Fayetteville WV, Madison WV, Crab Orchard WV, Winfield WV, Craigsville WV, Daniels WV, Prosperity WV, Alum Creek WV, Bradley WV, Coal City WV, MacArthur WV, Elkview WV, Eleanor WV, Welch WV, Rand WV, Montgomery WV, Logan WV, Mount Gay-Shamrock WV, Chesapeake WV, Marmet WV, Beaver WV, Ansted WV, Mullens WV, Buffalo WV, Mount Hope WV, Mabscott WV, Sophia WV, Oceana WV, Gilbert Creek WV, Tornado WV, Coal Fork WV, Belle WV, Clendenin WV, Chapmanville WV, Piney View WV, Mallory WV, Chelyan WV, Accoville WV, Sutton WV, Poca WV, Stanaford WV, Cedar Grove WV, East Bank WV, Bruno WV, Glasgow WV, Gassaway WV, Hilltop WV, Shrewsbury WV, Powellton WV, Gary WV, Scarbro WV, Boomer WV, Smithers WV, Holden WV, Bolt WV, Addison WV, Justice WV, Jefferson WV, Man WV, McConnell WV, Hometown WV, Bancroft WV, Danville WV, Pineville WV, Pratt WV, Gauley Bridge WV, Switzer WV, and Amherstdale WV. Flight nanny. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight and hands it to you at baggage claim, never in cargo. For Charleston, the airports that work are Yeager Airport, and Raleigh County Memorial Airport. It's priced per flight and quoted individually. Being straight with you, this rarely makes sense for West Virginia. Flying costs more than the ground fee and doesn't save meaningful time on a trip this short.
