Get to Know Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, are especially close to our hearts at The Puppy House. With their long, beautiful, silky coat and very little shedding, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but you'd never guess it from their feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. Still, what wins most people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Even better, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. They adapt well to most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder near Carson, California can be a challenge, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're so proud to provide families in Carson with our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies. We want every family to find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Here's What Makes Our Puppies the Best

The Puppy House is dedicated to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Our standards are set well above the minimum. We make sure all of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have all the room they need to play and socialize.

Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important piece, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies spend time in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs, playing and exploring together. It's great for socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to come visit and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see where your puppy was raised, spend time with our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing each Yorkie seriously, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, hearing from them over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Carson, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Carson the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Carson means 2054 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Carson or in , including and West Carson CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Carson. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Jack Northrop Field Hawthorne Municipal Airport, and Long Beach International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Carson we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
