Here's Why We Adore Yorkies

At The Puppy House, the Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts. This breed has a beautiful, long, silky coat that sheds very little, making it a popular recommendation for people with allergies. Even though they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what truly wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They blend right in with most families. Responsible breeders are few and far between across the country, which makes finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Burbank, California area a challenge. That's why we take great pride in bringing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Burbank. Our goal is for every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

See Why Our Puppies Stand Out

At The Puppy House, we make sure our Yorkies are bred and raised the right way. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy is given Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done early in life. Socialization is another essential step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. Our puppies play and explore outside in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This helps with socialization and gives them plenty of exercise too.

We always welcome visits, so come pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can check out our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We treat placing our Yorkies as more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. Our favorite part is making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, every puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Burbank, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Burbank the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Burbank means 2046 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Burbank or in , including Glendale CA, and La Crescenta-Montrose CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Burbank. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Bobe Hope / Hollywood Burbank Airport, and Los Angeles International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Burbank we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
