Here's Why We Love Yorkies

At The Puppy House, the Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts. With their long, beautiful, silky coat and very little shedding, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family are what really win people over. Their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the cherry on top. They're well suited to most families. With so few responsible breeders across the country, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Brea, California area can be a challenge. For this reason, we're proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Brea. Our goal is to help every family bring home a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

Find Out Why Our Puppies Stand Out

At The Puppy House, we make sure our Yorkies are bred and raised the right way. We go far beyond the minimum standards. All of our adult dogs have been genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for, with plenty of room to play and socialize.

Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. We also focus on socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

If possible, we invite you to come visit us and choose your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies to heart, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We enjoy gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before going home, every puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Brea, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Brea the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Brea means 2032 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Brea or in , including and La Habra CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Brea. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Orange County families meet their nanny at Long Beach International Airport, and John Wayne Orange County International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Brea we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
