Discover Why We're So Fond of Yorkies

Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. Known for their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little and are often recommended for people with allergies. Most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, but their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. Yet what really wins people over is their sweet disposition and the deep bond they form with their family. Then there's their love of cuddling and staying close all the time, which is the icing on the cake. They're well suited to most families. Finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the San Juan Capistrano, California area can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why it means so much to us to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in San Juan Capistrano. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

Why So Many Families Choose Our Puppies

At The Puppy House, breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we do. Our standards go well past the bare minimum. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.

All our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises we do in the first few weeks of life. Socialization matters just as much, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. In the backyard, our puppies play and explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This helps with socialization and gives them plenty of exercise too.

If you can make the trip, we invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We're serious about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's more than a one-time sale. It means a lot to us to make new friends, keep in touch, and watch our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before any puppy goes home, they receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to San Juan Capistrano, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for San Juan Capistrano the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from San Juan Capistrano means 2031 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in San Juan Capistrano or in , including Laguna Niguel CA, and Dana Point CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for San Juan Capistrano. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Orange County families meet their nanny at John Wayne Orange County International Airport, and McClellan-Palomar Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in San Juan Capistrano we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
