See What We Love About Yorkies

At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, known to most people as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts. Known for their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little and are often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but you'd never guess it from their feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. Even so, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the strong bond they form with their family. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. Yorkies adapt easily to most families. If you live in the West Carson, California area, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's the reason we take so much pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in West Carson. Our goal is for every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are the Best Around

At The Puppy House, we take care to breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. Our standards go much further than the basics. Our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines with a reputation for great temperaments. Every dog here is well cared for and has lots of room to play and socialize.

In the first few weeks of life, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. Another important step is socialization, which helps our puppies build good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our vaccinated adult dogs. They get great socialization this way, along with plenty of exercise.

If you're able, come visit us and pick out your puppy in person. That gives you the chance to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing each Yorkie seriously, and we see it as more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before they go home, all of our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to West Carson, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for West Carson the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from West Carson means 2055 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in West Carson or in , including Carson CA, and Lomita CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for West Carson. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Jack Northrop Field Hawthorne Municipal Airport, and Long Beach International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in West Carson we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
