Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Wethersfield, CT
Here's What We Love About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, are especially close to our hearts at The Puppy House. This breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies because it sheds very little. Yorkies usually tip the scales at 7 pounds or less, yet they have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But what most people love is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying right by your side is the icing on the cake. Yorkies fit right in with most families. Responsible breeders are few and far between across the country, which makes finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Wethersfield, Connecticut area a challenge. Because of this, we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Wethersfield. We want every family to enjoy a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Wethersfield
Here's Why Our Puppies Are the Best
The Puppy House is dedicated to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. For us, the basics are only the starting point. Our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines with a reputation for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well looked after and has plenty of space to play and socialize.
Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization matters just as much, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.
We always welcome visits, so come pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see our home, get to know our dogs, and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies with families seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale to us. Nothing makes us happier than making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before they go home. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Three Ways a Yorkie Puppy Gets to Wethersfield, Connecticut
Connecticut falls in our regional delivery tier, which means door to door ground transport is a flat $350 in Wethersfield, in , including and Rocky Hill CT, and everywhere else in Hartford County. This is what we recommend for most families here. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Vans leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays, and because Connecticut sits early on the East Coast route, arrival is usually the next day.
Pickup at the farm is open to anyone willing to make the drive, by appointment. From Wethersfield that's 474 miles by road, or 8 to 10 hours each way. It makes for a long day. You get to see where the puppy was raised, meet the litter, and go through the health records, microchip registration, and the guarantee face to face before you head home.
Flight nanny is the fastest option and the one families choose when they want the puppy quickly. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin in an airline approved carrier under the seat, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. Most of these finish same day. The practical arrival airports for Wethersfield are Bradley International Airport, and Tweed New Haven Airport. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds including the carrier, and travel with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. A grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds, so that weight limit is never the sticking point with this breed. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground, and winter weather can push a date.
We send home a bag of the food the puppy has been eating. The method, the timing, and the fee all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
