Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Southgate, MI
Here's Why We Love Yorkies
At The Puppy House, the Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, holds a special place in our hearts. Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies because their long, beautiful, silky coat sheds very little. Although they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what truly wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. Yorkies make a wonderful fit for most families. Since there are so few responsible breeders across the country, finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Southgate, Michigan area can be challenging. That's why we take great pride in making our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies available to families in Southgate. We want every family to have the chance to own a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Find Out Why Our Puppies Stand Out
At The Puppy House, we make sure our Yorkies are bred and raised the right way. The bar we set for ourselves is well above the basics. We make sure all of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.
Our puppies all go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which involves gentle handling exercises in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step, and it builds the foundation for good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies spend time in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs, playing and exploring together. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.
If possible, we invite you to come visit us and choose your puppy in person. This way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies in new homes is something we take seriously, and it's more than a one-time sale for us. We love forming new friendships, staying in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Getting a Yorkie Puppy Home to Southgate, Michigan
Three ways work here, and which one we suggest for Southgate mostly comes down to how you feel about the drive.
Pickup at the farm is free and it's the option we point Michigan families toward first. The drive is short by our standards. From Southgate it's 144 miles, which works out to 2 to 4 hours each way. You get to see where the puppy was raised, go over the vaccination records and microchip registration at the table, and drive home with the puppy in your lap rather than in a van.
Home delivery by ground is our most popular option. It costs a flat $350 anywhere in Michigan, so a Wayne County address pays the same whether it's in Southgate or out in , including Brownstown MI, Wyandotte MI, and Riverview MI. A professional transport service drives door to door in a climate controlled van, the puppy travels in an individual carrier after a pre transport vet check, and you get updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays, and most families are holding their puppy within about three days of departure, often sooner given how short the run north is.
Flight nanny is the fast option and gets quoted per flight. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, and hands it to you at baggage claim, usually the same day. Yorkies make this easy because a puppy and an airline approved soft carrier together come nowhere near the twenty pound cabin limit. Southgate families would meet the nanny at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, and Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport. Health certificates are arranged before travel, and weather delays are worth planning around in winter.
