Find Out Why We're Crazy About Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, better known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts here at The Puppy House. People with allergies are often pointed toward Yorkies, since their beautiful, long, silky coat sheds very little. Even though most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, they often act like big dogs, with an attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they share with their family that win most people over. Their love of snuggling and sticking close all the time is the cherry on top. They fit in well with most families. Tracking down a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Rancho Palos Verdes, California area can be challenging, since responsible breeders are so rare across the country. That's why we take real pride in providing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Rancho Palos Verdes. We want every family to be able to bring home a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Families Choose Our Puppies

At The Puppy House, breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we do. The standards we follow go well beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well looked after and has plenty of space to play and socialize.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is also an important step, since it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as puppies grow. The puppies play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. They get great socialization this way, along with plenty of exercise.

We welcome you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you're able to. It's a great chance to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We're careful about placing our Yorkies, and for us it's always more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, checking in over the years, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Rancho Palos Verdes, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports

There are three ways home, and for Rancho Palos Verdes the choice is usually between the last two.

Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Rancho Palos Verdes means 2062 miles and 40 to 42 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.

Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Rancho Palos Verdes or in , including Avalon CA, and Rolling Hills CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.

Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Rancho Palos Verdes. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Los Angeles County families meet their nanny at Jack Northrop Field Hawthorne Municipal Airport, and Los Angeles International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.

Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Rancho Palos Verdes we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
