Why We're Crazy About Yorkies

Everyone at The Puppy House has a soft spot for Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies. Along with their beautiful, long, silky coat, Yorkies shed very little, so they're often recommended for people with allergies. Although they typically weigh 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But the real reason people fall for Yorkies is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and always staying close is the icing on the cake. They settle into most family homes with ease. Reputable Yorkie breeders are hard to come by in the Bloom, Illinois area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we take great pride in bringing our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Bloom. We want each family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can trust.

Find Out What Makes Our Puppies the Best

Breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we're all about at The Puppy House. Meeting the basics isn't enough for us. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines that are known for great temperaments. Every dog here gets great care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each puppy completes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's a fun way for them to get exercise too.

If possible, we invite you to come visit us and choose your puppy in person. That way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take great care in placing our Yorkies, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. Making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes are all things we love.

Our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before they go home. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Bloom, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Bloom that's 5 to 7 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in Cook County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Bloom comes up 319 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Chicago Heights IL, Sauk Village IL, Glenwood IL, and Ford Heights IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Bloom families are Gary Chicago International Airport, and Chicago Midway International Airport. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
