Find Out Why We're Crazy About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, better known as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts here at The Puppy House. With their long, beautiful, silky coat and very little shedding, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. However, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The fact that they love to cuddle and stay close all the time is the icing on the cake. They usually fit right in with most families. With so few responsible breeders across the country, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Avondale, Arizona area can be a challenge. That's the reason we take so much pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Avondale. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can truly count on.

Why Families Choose Our Puppies
At The Puppy House, breeding and raising Yorkies the right way is what we do. Our standards go far beyond the basics. Our adult dogs come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments, and all of them are genetically tested. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of room to run, play, and socialize.
Our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done during the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step that lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and they get lots of exercise along the way.
We always welcome visits, so come pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see our home and our dogs for yourself and meet us face to face. To us, placing a Yorkie is more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. Making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes are all things we love.
Before going home, each puppy receives their first set of shots and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Getting a Yorkie Puppy to Avondale, Arizona
There are three ways to bring a puppy home to Avondale, and we settle on one by phone after the puppy is reserved rather than at checkout.
Flight nanny. For Avondale this is usually the one we point families toward. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, under the seat in an airline approved soft carrier, never in cargo. Most of these trips finish the same day. A Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds full grown, so a puppy plus carrier sits far under the 20 pound cabin limit, which makes this breed one of the easiest to fly. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old and have a health certificate from a licensed vet, both of which we arrange. For Maricopa County families, nannies fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and Mesa Gateway Airport, and the handoff happens at baggage claim. Pricing is quoted per flight since it follows airfare.
Home delivery by ground. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a pre trip vet check, and updates along the way. Arizona falls in our national tier at a flat $450, and that's the price in Avondale as well as in , including Goodyear AZ, Tolleson AZ, and Maricopa Colony AZ. Transports leave on Tuesdays, and with 1754 miles of road between the farm and your door, the run usually takes two to three days depending on the route. The van stays cool the whole way, which matters more here than almost anywhere.
Pickup in Sugarcreek. You're welcome to come get the puppy yourself by appointment. It's 34 to 36 hours of driving from Avondale, so nobody does it as a simple errand, but a few families build it into a trip east and like walking the property and going through the health records at the kitchen table.
There's one Arizona specific thing to plan for. Yorkie puppies can drop low on blood sugar after a stressful day of travel, so plan on a small meal soon after the handoff and a few more that first day, and keep water in front of the puppy. Between the desert heat and dry air, that first evening at home should be quiet and indoors.
