Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Monterey, CA

Discover Why Yorkies Have Our Hearts
Yorkshire Terriers, often called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. The Yorkie's long, silky coat is beautiful and low-shedding, which makes the breed a common recommendation for people with allergies. Yorkies usually weigh no more than 7 pounds, yet they have a big-dog attitude that can be both feisty and bossy. Even so, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the strong bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the cherry on top. Yorkies fit right in with most families. If you live in the Monterey, California area, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why we're proud to offer families in Monterey our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies. We believe every family deserves access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

What Sets Our Puppies Apart
At The Puppy House, we believe in doing things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We aim much higher than the basics. We only work with genetically tested adult dogs from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are all well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is another important step that helps our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's a great way to socialize them, and they get plenty of exercise too.
If it works for you, we invite you to visit and pick out your puppy in person. Visiting lets you see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take great care in placing our Yorkies, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love forming new friendships, staying in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Monterey, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Monterey the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Monterey means 2173 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Monterey or in , including Seaside CA, Pacific Grove CA, Del Monte Forest CA, and Carmel-by-the-Sea CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Monterey. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Monterey County families meet their nanny at Monterey Regional Airport, and Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Monterey we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
