Learn Why We Love Yorkshire Terriers

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed we really love at The Puppy House. The breed is often recommended for people with allergies thanks to its long, beautiful, silky coat that sheds very little. They're small, usually weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, it's their sweet nature and the deep bond they share with their family that win most people over. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They usually fit right in with most families. Finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Mission Bend, Texas area can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're proud to bring our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Mission Bend. We want every family to have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

Discover Why Our Yorkie Puppies Are the Best

At The Puppy House, we care about breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. Our standards are much higher than what's required. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines with a history of great temperaments. Every dog we have receives excellent care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.

During their first few weeks, our puppies go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. Another important step is socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This helps with socialization and gives them plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see our home, get to know our dogs, and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies is something we take seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Each puppy gets their first round of vaccinations and a thorough exam from a veterinarian before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.

Puppy Delivery to Mission Bend, Texas

Home delivery by ground transport

A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates along the way. Transports leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Texas falls in our national pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $450 regardless of which corner of the state you live in. Mission Bend is 1086 miles from the farm, and because of that distance most families here are looking at two to three days on the road rather than the next day arrival that East Coast families get. Your driver's stops in Fort Bend County include Mission Bend along with , including Sugar Land TX, Katy TX, Pecan Grove TX, and Four Corners TX.

Flight nanny

A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, right beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. The handoff usually happens the same afternoon. Texas has plenty of direct service from the Midwest, and Mission Bend families usually meet their nanny at William P. Hobby Airport, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground transport. They also need a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. The twenty pound cabin limit including the carrier is never an issue with this breed, since a grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds.

Pickup at the farm

Coming to Sugarcreek by appointment and driving the puppy home yourself is always open. From Mission Bend that's 21 to 23 hours each way, a commitment of several days, so most families skip it, but the ones who make the drive get to meet the puppy where it was raised and go through the health records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee with us in person.

What we suggest for Mission Bend

For most Texas addresses, ground delivery at $450 is the easy answer, and it is what we would suggest first. It ends at your front door. Nothing is asked of you but a signature. If you would rather not have a young puppy on the road for three days, the flight nanny is usually worth the extra cost. Small puppies can dip low on blood sugar when they travel, so plan on small frequent meals for the first few days home no matter which option you pick. Method, timing, and the fee all get confirmed on the phone once your puppy is reserved.
