Explore Why We Love Yorkies

Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, are especially close to our hearts at The Puppy House. This low-shedding breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies. For a dog that typically weighs 7 pounds or less, the Yorkie has a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. That said, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. To top it off, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. For most families, a Yorkie fits right in. Tracking down a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Machesney Park, Illinois area can be challenging, since responsible breeders are so rare across the country. That's why it means so much to us to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Machesney Park. We want to make sure every family has access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Here's What Sets Our Puppies Apart

Here at The Puppy House, we do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We hold ourselves to standards that go well beyond the basics. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of space for playing and socializing.

Our puppies all go through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which involves gentle handling exercises in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another big part of the process, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. They play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's a great way to socialize them, and they get plenty of exercise too.

If you're able to, we'd love for you to visit and choose your puppy in person. It's a chance to see our home, meet our dogs, and get to know us face to face. To us, placing a Yorkie is more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Our puppies receive their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam before they go home. You can trust that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.

Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Machesney Park, Illinois, and What Each Option Costs

Pickup in Sugarcreek. Collect the puppy yourself, by appointment. From Machesney Park that's 7 to 9 hours each way. Families who make the drive see where the puppy was raised and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person.

Home delivery by ground. Most Illinois families take this option, and it's the one we would suggest for almost any address in Winnebago County. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Transport leaves on Tuesdays. At $350 flat, Illinois sits in our regional tier, and since the state is one of the nearer stops heading west, most families have their puppy within a day or two of departure rather than the full three. Machesney Park comes up 404 miles into the route, and the same van reaches , including Rockford IL, and Owen IL.

Flight nanny. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. The usual arrival airports for Machesney Park families are Chicago Rockford International Airport, and Dane County Regional Truax Field. Nearly all of these trips wrap up inside a day. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy has to be at least eight weeks old and under twenty pounds including the carrier, which no Yorkshire Terrier gets anywhere near, and we arrange the health certificate beforehand. Winter delays are worth planning around if you're flying a puppy into Illinois in January.

We send food along with every puppy. The method, the timing, and the price all get confirmed on a call once a puppy is reserved.
