Find Out Why We Love Yorkshire Terriers

Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, are a breed we really love at The Puppy House. This low-shedding breed has a long, beautiful, silky coat and is often recommended for people with allergies. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. However, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. As a bonus, they love to cuddle and stay close all the time. Most families find that Yorkies fit right in. There are very few responsible breeders across the country, so finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Katy, Texas area can be difficult. For this reason, we're proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkie puppies to families in Katy. Every family should have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on, and that's what we're here to provide.

Discover Why Our Yorkie Puppies Are the Best

Breeding and raising Yorkies the right way matters to us at The Puppy House. We expect much more from ourselves than the basics. Our adult dogs are all genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well looked after and has plenty of space to play and socialize.

In the first few weeks of life, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. Socialization is another important step that helps our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. They spend time in the backyard playing and exploring with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This is a great way for them to socialize, and they get plenty of exercise too.

We invite you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. This way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies is something we take seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We enjoy gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before heading home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Puppy Delivery to Katy, Texas

Home delivery by ground transport

A professional pet transport service drives your puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates along the way. Transports leave Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Texas falls in our national pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $450 regardless of which corner of the state you live in. Katy is 1089 miles from the farm, and because of that distance most families here are looking at two to three days on the road rather than the next day arrival that East Coast families get. Your driver's stops in Fort Bend County include Katy along with , including Fulshear TX, Cinco Ranch TX, Hempstead TX, Prairie View TX, Sealy TX, Brookshire TX, Bellville TX, Weston Lakes TX, Columbus TX, Waller TX, Pine Island TX, Glidden TX, Simonton TX, San Felipe TX, and Pattison TX.

Flight nanny

A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, right beside them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. The handoff usually happens the same afternoon. Texas has plenty of direct service from the Midwest, and Katy families usually meet their nanny at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and William P. Hobby Airport. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground transport. They also need a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a puppy at least eight weeks old, and a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. The twenty pound cabin limit including the carrier is never an issue with this breed, since a grown Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds.

Pickup at the farm

Coming to Sugarcreek by appointment and driving the puppy home yourself is always open. From Katy that's 21 to 23 hours each way, a commitment of several days, so most families skip it, but the ones who make the drive get to meet the puppy where it was raised and go through the health records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee with us in person.

What we suggest for Katy

For most Texas addresses, ground delivery at $450 is the easy answer, and it is what we would suggest first. It ends at your front door. Nothing is asked of you but a signature. If you would rather not have a young puppy on the road for three days, the flight nanny is usually worth the extra cost. Small puppies can dip low on blood sugar when they travel, so plan on small frequent meals for the first few days home no matter which option you pick. Method, timing, and the fee all get confirmed on the phone once your puppy is reserved.
