Learn Why Yorkies Are So Special to Us

Few breeds are as close to our hearts at The Puppy House as the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as the Yorkie. Yorkies have a long, beautiful, silky coat and are often recommended for people with allergies because they shed very little. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But what truly wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and being close by all the time is the icing on the cake. They tend to fit right in with most families. Finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Spartanburg, South Carolina area can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why we're so proud to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Spartanburg. We're committed to giving every family access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can rely on.

What Makes Our Puppies a Cut Above

At The Puppy House, we always do things the right way when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. For us, the basics are only the starting point. Our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines with a reputation for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for, with plenty of room to play and socialize.

Each of our puppies receives Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a set of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another important step in helping our puppies develop good behavior and habits as they grow. Our puppies play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great for socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.

You're welcome to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. This way, you can see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. To us, placing a Yorkie is more than a one-time sale, and we take it seriously. We love making new friends along the way, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.

Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.

Getting a Yorkie Puppy to Spartanburg, South Carolina: Pickup, Ground, and Flight Nanny

Most Spartanburg families choose home delivery. A professional pet transport service moves the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, with its own carrier, a veterinary check before leaving, and updates on the way. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays and the flat fee to South Carolina is $350, the same in Spartanburg as in , including Gaffney SC, Boiling Springs SC, Union SC, Forest City NC, Valley Falls SC, Boiling Springs NC, Spindale NC, Rutherfordton NC, Saxon SC, Southern Shops SC, Arcadia SC, Roebuck SC, East Gaffney SC, Pacolet SC, Cowpens SC, Fairforest SC, Mayo SC, Monarch Mill SC, Whitmire SC, Buffalo SC, Chesnee SC, Ellenboro NC, Jonesville SC, Caroleen NC, Cliffside NC, Enoree SC, Henrietta NC, Converse SC, and Clifton SC. The climate controlled van earns its keep on this route more than on most.

Flight nanny moves faster. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and hands the puppy over at baggage claim. Most finish inside one day. Families in Spartanburg County fly their puppies into Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, and Asheville Regional Airport. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds with the carrier, and cleared by a licensed veterinarian, which a four to seven pound Yorkshire Terrier manages without any trouble. This one is quoted per flight and costs more than ground.

Farm pickup is open to anyone willing to make the drive, though at 7 to 9 hours each way it's a long day from Spartanburg and only a handful of families do it. Visits run by appointment. We go through the records, the microchip registration, and the guarantee in person. The method, the timing, and the fee all get sorted on a call once your puppy is reserved.
