Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Oakley, CA
Learn Why Yorkies Have Our Hearts
At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies as they're often called, have a special place in our hearts. This breed is known for its long, beautiful, silky coat, and because it sheds very little, it's often recommended for people with allergies. A Yorkie typically weighs 7 pounds or less but has a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. But underneath that attitude, what really wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The fact that they love to cuddle and stay close all the time is the icing on the cake. They blend right in with most families. Reputable Yorkie breeders can be hard to find in the Oakley, California area, since there are so few responsible breeders nationwide. That's why it means so much to us to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Oakley. Our mission is to help every family find a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are Top Quality
We do things the right way at The Puppy House when it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies. We go well beyond the basic standards. Our adult dogs are all genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Each dog in our care is well looked after and has plenty of room to play and socialize.
Every puppy takes part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Socialization is another key step, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. The puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This playtime is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We always welcome visits, so come pick out your puppy in person if you can. It's a chance to see our home, meet our dogs, and get to know us face to face. We take great care in placing our Yorkies, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love making new friends, staying in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy is given their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Oakley, California: Costs, Timing, and Airports
There are three ways home, and for Oakley the choice is usually between the last two.
Farm pickup. Families are welcome in Sugarcreek by appointment. Driving it from Oakley means 2133 miles and 42 to 44 hours behind the wheel in each direction, so the families who visit nearly always fly into Cleveland or Columbus and drive about an hour and a half out into Tuscarawas County. That only makes sense if you were coming east anyway. When it does work out, you see the property, meet the parents where possible, and we go through the vaccination records, microchip registration, and guarantee at the kitchen table. The puppy leaves with a bag of the food it has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground transport. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road. The fee to California is a flat $450, whether the address is in Oakley or in , including Brentwood CA, Rio Vista CA, Bethel Island CA, and Isleton CA. Vans leave on Tuesdays, and the West Coast run takes two to three days depending on the route, so treat any arrival window as approximate until it's confirmed by phone.
Flight nanny. This is the one we usually recommend for Oakley. A trained handler keeps the puppy in the cabin beside them for the whole flight, never in cargo, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, and sends photos and video along the way. Most of these deliveries finish in a single day. Because California sits three hours behind Ohio, a morning departure often means an early afternoon handoff your time, and that handoff happens at baggage claim rather than at the gate. Contra Costa County families meet their nanny at Buchanan Field, and Stockton Metropolitan Airport. Flight nanny costs more than ground and is quoted per flight, since the price depends on the route and the date. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, needs a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and needs to weigh under 20 pounds including the carrier. A Yorkshire Terrier puppy at two or three pounds isn't close to that limit, which is part of why the breed travels so well in the cabin.
Timing matters more in California than it does most places. For a midsummer arrival in Oakley we aim for early in the day and ask you to have the car cool and a water bowl ready. Toy breed puppies also run their blood sugar down on a travel day, so a small meal soon after you get home matters more than it would with a bigger dog.
