Learn What We Love About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies for short, have a special place in our hearts at The Puppy House. The breed is often recommended for people with allergies thanks to its long, beautiful, silky coat that sheds very little. Yorkies typically weigh 7 pounds or less, but you'd never guess it from their feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. But the real reason people fall for Yorkies is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The cherry on top is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. Yorkies make a wonderful fit for most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder near Lake Havasu City, Arizona can be a challenge, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. This is exactly why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Lake Havasu City. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Make the Best Companions
At The Puppy House, we take care to breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. Our standards are set well above the minimum. Our adult dogs are all genetically tested, and they come from strong bloodlines known for wonderful temperaments. Every one of our dogs is well cared for, and each has plenty of room to play and socialize.
From the start, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. Another important step is socialization, which helps our puppies build good behavior and habits as they grow. They get plenty of time to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This time outside is great socialization, and it gives them plenty of exercise too.
We'd love for you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can see our home, meet our dogs, and get to know us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies to heart, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love gaining new friends, keeping in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.
Getting a Yorkie Puppy to Lake Havasu City, Arizona
There are three ways to bring a puppy home to Lake Havasu City, and we settle on one by phone after the puppy is reserved rather than at checkout.
Flight nanny. For Lake Havasu City this is usually the one we point families toward. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight, under the seat in an airline approved soft carrier, never in cargo. Most of these trips finish the same day. A Yorkshire Terrier weighs four to seven pounds full grown, so a puppy plus carrier sits far under the 20 pound cabin limit, which makes this breed one of the easiest to fly. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old and have a health certificate from a licensed vet, both of which we arrange. For Mohave County families, nannies fly into Lake Havasu City Airport, and Boulder City Municipal Airport, and the handoff happens at baggage claim. Pricing is quoted per flight since it follows airfare.
Home delivery by ground. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a pre trip vet check, and updates along the way. Arizona falls in our national tier at a flat $450, and that's the price in Lake Havasu City as well as in , including Quartzsite AZ, Parker AZ, Desert Hills AZ, Cienega Springs AZ, Salome AZ, Big River CA, Bouse AZ, Bluewater AZ, Golden Shores AZ, Parker Strip AZ, Vicksburg AZ, and La Paz Valley AZ. Transports leave on Tuesdays, and with 1828 miles of road between the farm and your door, the run usually takes two to three days depending on the route. The van stays cool the whole way, which matters more here than almost anywhere.
Pickup in Sugarcreek. You're welcome to come get the puppy yourself by appointment. It's 36 to 38 hours of driving from Lake Havasu City, so nobody does it as a simple errand, but a few families build it into a trip east and like walking the property and going through the health records at the kitchen table.
There's one Arizona specific thing to plan for. Yorkie puppies can drop low on blood sugar after a stressful day of travel, so plan on a small meal soon after the handoff and a few more that first day, and keep water in front of the puppy. Between the desert heat and dry air, that first evening at home should be quiet and indoors.
