Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Owensboro, KY
Learn Why We're So Fond of Yorkies
Here at The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also called Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. This breed's gorgeous, long, silky coat sheds very little, so it's often suggested for people with allergies. Yorkies may be small, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but they have a big-dog attitude that can be feisty and bossy. Still, their sweet nature and the deep connection they form with their family are what really win people over. Their love of cuddling and always staying close is the icing on the cake. They settle in easily with most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder near Owensboro, Kentucky can be a challenge, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. This is why we take great pride in offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Owensboro. Our hope is that every family can have a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Owensboro
Why Choose One of Our Puppies
Here at The Puppy House, we breed and raise our Yorkies the right way. We go above and beyond the basics. All of our adult dogs are genetically tested and come from strong bloodlines that are known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have plenty of room to play and socialize.
In the first few weeks of life, every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. The puppies play and explore in our backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's a fun way for them to get exercise too.
We encourage you to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. You'll get to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Placing our Yorkies is something we take seriously, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. We love building new friendships, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Before going home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can rest assured that you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to be part of your family.
Yorkie Puppy Delivery to Owensboro, Kentucky, and What It Costs
Home delivery to your door
$350, door to door, to Owensboro or anywhere else in the state. That is the whole cost of getting your puppy home, and it's what most Kentucky families choose. A pet delivery service collects the puppy here on Tuesday morning and runs it down in a climate controlled van, in a carrier to itself, with the vans cleaned and disinfected between trips. Two drivers ride each one, so somebody is with the puppies the whole way. The service's own veterinarian goes over every puppy after pickup and before the van pulls out, and the driver calls as it gets close so you know when to be home.
Schedules close at noon on Monday for that week. Owensboro is 348 miles from the farm, so families here are usually holding the puppy within a day or two of departure rather than waiting out a long haul. Around Daviess County, the van also makes stops in , including Jasper IN, Tell City IN, Huntingburg IN, Central City KY, Beaver Dam KY, Hartford KY, Santa Claus IN, Ferdinand IN, Rockport IN, Lewisport KY, Dale IN, Cannelton IN, Masonville KY, Livermore KY, Cloverport KY, Hawesville KY, Hatfield IN, Calhoun KY, Grandview IN, St. Meinrad IN, Holland IN, Whitesville KY, Fordsville KY, and Utica KY.
Pickup at the farm
Pickup is free, and Kentucky is close enough that a fair number of families take it rather than wait on a van. From Owensboro it's 6 to 8 hours each way. You get to walk the property, meet the mother where possible, and go through the vaccination records, the microchip paperwork and the guarantee at the kitchen table instead of over the phone. Visits run by appointment so the time is set aside for you properly rather than squeezed between chores. We're closed Sundays, and a message left then usually gets answered Monday.
Flight nanny
Ask and we'll arrange it. Only a handful of families a year go this way, since the drive is short enough that flying rarely buys much. A handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim the same day. For Owensboro, the workable airports are Owensboro Daviess County Airport, and Evansville Regional Airport. Flights run $750 to $1,200 depending on the route and the airline.
