See What We Adore About Yorkies
Yorkshire Terriers, commonly known as Yorkies, hold a special place in the hearts of everyone at The Puppy House. Yorkies have a beautiful, long, silky coat, and since they shed very little, they're often recommended for people with allergies. Even at 7 pounds or less, Yorkies have a big-dog attitude that can come across as feisty and bossy. But what truly wins people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The icing on the cake is their love of cuddling and staying close all the time. They're a great match for most families. Finding a reputable Yorkie breeder near Gaithersburg, Maryland can be a challenge, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Gaithersburg is something we take great pride in. We want every family to be able to bring home a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Find Out Why Our Puppies Are the Best
At The Puppy House, we're committed to breeding and raising Yorkies the right way. We hold ourselves to standards that go well beyond the basics. Every adult dog in our program is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog here gets great care and has plenty of room to play and socialize.
Each puppy completes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. We also focus on socialization, which lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. The puppies get to play and explore in the backyard with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and it's good exercise for them too.
You're invited to visit us and choose your puppy in person if you can. That gives you the chance to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. We take placing our Yorkies seriously, and we see it as much more than a one-time sale. We enjoy making new friends, staying in touch, and seeing our pups grow up in loving homes.
Each puppy has their first round of vaccinations and a full veterinary exam before going home. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.
Three Ways to Bring a Yorkie Puppy Home to Gaithersburg, Maryland
Picking up at the farm
You're welcome to come get your puppy in person by appointment. From Gaithersburg the run out to Sugarcreek is 253 miles and 4 to 6 hours each way, and plenty of Maryland families do it to see where the puppy grew up. Pickups include the health records, microchip paperwork, and guarantee gone over at the kitchen table, plus a bag of the food the puppy has been eating, a toy, and a blanket that smells like the litter.
Ground delivery to your door
Ground is where most Maryland families end up. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van with its own carrier, a vet check before departure, and updates along the way. Maryland sits in our regional tier, so the fee is a flat $350. Transport leaves on Tuesdays and East Coast stops are usually next day, so a puppy that departs Tuesday morning is often in Montgomery County by Wednesday. The same stop covers , including Montgomery Village MD, North Potomac MD, Redland MD, and Washington Grove MD.
Flight nanny
A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands it over at baggage claim. Most flight nanny deliveries finish the same day. The practical airports for Gaithersburg are Washington Dulles International Airport, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Flights are quoted individually and cost more than ground, and every nanny trip needs a veterinarian health certificate and some flexibility if weather moves things around. Weight is never the problem with this breed on a flight, since the cabin limit is twenty pounds including the carrier and a Yorkie puppy is nowhere near that.
For most of the state we suggest ground delivery. The distance is short enough that the puppy is only on the road one night, and it saves you an airport trip. If 4 to 6 hours each way sounds like a comfortable day to you, pickup is worth the drive.
