Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Sioux City, IA
See What We Love About Yorkies
At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, known to most people as Yorkies, have a special place in our hearts. Yorkies have a beautiful, long, silky coat, and since they shed very little, they're often recommended for people with allergies. Most Yorkies weigh 7 pounds or less, but their big-dog attitude can be feisty and bossy. Still, what wins most people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. Their love of cuddling and staying close all the time is the icing on the cake. They fit easily into most families. Finding reputable Yorkie breeders in the Sioux City, Iowa area can be challenging, since there are so few responsible breeders across the country. That's why it means so much to us to offer our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Sioux City. We want every family to enjoy a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.
Our Available Yorkie Puppies In Sioux City
Why Our Puppies Are Hard to Beat
When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, The Puppy House does things the right way. Our standards are much higher than what's required. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Every dog here is well cared for and has lots of room to play and socialize.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life, is part of every puppy's routine. Socialization is just as important, and it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as they grow. Out in the backyard, our puppies play and explore alongside kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. It's great socialization, and they get lots of exercise along the way.
Feel free to visit us and pick out your puppy in person if you can. You'll be able to see our home and our dogs and meet us face to face. Every Yorkie we place matters to us, and it's never just a one-time sale. We love keeping in touch with the new friends we make and watching our pups grow up in loving homes.
Every puppy gets their first round of shots and a thorough veterinary exam before going home. You can be sure you're bringing home a healthy, happy Yorkie who's ready to become part of your family.
How Your Yorkie Puppy Travels to Sioux City, Iowa: Fees and Timing
Home delivery by ground
Sioux City families choose this more often than anything else, and we would suggest it first. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a veterinary check before departure, and updates from the road. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Most families across the country have their puppy in hand within about three days of departure. Iowa is on the shorter side of that since the route runs west along the interstate corridor rather than across the country. Sioux City sits 775 miles into that run, and the driver works through , including South Sioux City NE, Vermillion SD, Le Mars IA, Sioux Center IA, Orange City IA, Sergeant Bluff IA, Sheldon IA, Cherokee IA, Big Sioux SD, Dakota Dunes SD, North Sioux City SD, Onawa IA, Hawarden IA, Ida Grove IA, Alta IA, Elk Point SD, Dakota City NE, Moville IA, Remsen IA, Hartley IA, Akron IA, Kingsley IA, Sanborn IA, Holstein IA, Wakefield NE, Blackbird NE, Alton IA, Mapleton IA, Pender NE, Marcus IA, Sloan IA, Macy NE, Lawton IA, Paullina IA, Hinton IA, Aurelia IA, Winnebago NE, Ponca NE, Primghar IA, Walthill NE, Correctionville IA, Emerson NE, Merrill IA, Whiting IA, Schaller IA, Hospers IA, Battle Creek IA, Boyden IA, Bancroft NE, Ireton IA, Sutherland IA, Anthon IA, Everly IA, Springbank NE, Homer NE, Fairview SD, Jefferson SD, and Newcastle NE on the same pass, along with any other Plymouth County address. Cost is a flat $450 for the state, and no airport trip is involved.
Flight nanny
A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight and hands it over at baggage claim, never in cargo. Most of these are same day. From Sioux City, families usually meet the flight at Sioux Gateway Airport / Brigadier General Bud Day Field, and Sioux Falls Regional Airport, and because there's no direct route from our corner of Ohio you should plan on a connection. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. A Yorkshire Terrier clears the weight limit with room to spare at four to seven pounds, so the carrier is comfortable rather than tight. Flight nanny costs more than ground and gets quoted per flight, and weather delays are part of the deal.
Pickup in Sugarcreek
You're welcome to come get the puppy yourself by appointment. Sioux City is 15 to 17 hours out, so this is a full weekend rather than a day trip, but some families want to see where the puppy was raised and go over the records, microchip registration and guarantee in person. If you're making the drive anyway, that's the best version of the handoff.
Travel comes with one breed specific caution. Very young toy puppies can drop their blood sugar after a stressful stretch or a missed meal, so whichever method you pick, plan on small frequent meals for the first few days at home and keep the first evening quiet. Call or text us at (330) 275-4443 and we'll talk through which option makes sense for Sioux City.
