Yorkshire Terrier Puppies for Sale in Athens, GA
Discover Why We Adore Yorkies
At The Puppy House, Yorkshire Terriers, also known as Yorkies, hold a special place in our hearts. With their long, beautiful, silky coat and very little shedding, Yorkies are often recommended for people with allergies. They may be tiny, typically weighing 7 pounds or less, but Yorkies have a feisty, bossy, big-dog attitude. Still, what wins most people over is their sweet nature and the deep bond they form with their family. The fact that they love to cuddle and stay close all the time is the icing on the cake. For most families, a Yorkie fits right in. Because responsible breeders are so rare across the country, finding a reputable Yorkie breeder in the Athens, Georgia area can be tough. That's why offering our carefully bred Yorkshire Terrier puppies to families in Athens is something we take great pride in. We want every family to have access to a healthy, well-raised puppy they can count on.

Why Our Puppies Are Second to None
When it comes to breeding and raising Yorkies, we do things the right way at The Puppy House. We go well beyond the basic standards. Each of our adult dogs is genetically tested and comes from strong bloodlines known for great temperaments. Our dogs are well cared for and have all the room they need to play and socialize.
Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a series of gentle handling exercises done in the first few weeks of life. We also make socialization a priority, because it lays the groundwork for good behavior and habits as our puppies grow. Playtime happens in the backyard, where our puppies explore with kids, adults, and our own vaccinated adult dogs. This helps with socialization and gives them plenty of exercise too.
We always welcome visits, so come pick out your puppy in person if you can. That way, you can meet us face to face and see our home and our dogs. We put a lot of thought into placing our Yorkies, and to us it's more than a one-time sale. Making new friends, keeping in touch, and watching our pups grow up in loving homes are all things we love.
Before leaving for their new home, each puppy receives their first round of vaccinations and a thorough veterinary exam. You can bring your new Yorkie home knowing they're healthy, happy, and ready to be part of your family.
Three Ways a Yorkie Puppy Gets From Sugarcreek to Athens, Georgia
Ground delivery, $350. Georgia sits in our regional pricing tier, so home delivery is a flat $350 anywhere in the state. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a custom climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary checkup before departure and updates from the road. Transport leaves Sugarcreek on Tuesdays. Athens is 462 miles from the farm, and once route stops are figured in, most families here are holding their puppy within a couple of days. The van that serves Athens also covers , including Jefferson GA, Commerce GA, Madison GA, Greensboro GA, Watkinsville GA, Statham GA, Royston GA, Arcade GA, Union Point GA, Nicholson GA, Comer GA, Winterville GA, Sparta GA, Bogart GA, Franklin Springs GA, Crawford GA, Rutledge GA, Bowman GA, Canon GA, North High Shoals GA, Carnesville GA, Danielsville GA, and Colbert GA. This is the option we recommend for almost everyone in Clarke County. There's no airport trip on either end, and for a four pound dog, a climate controlled van is a better ride than a car with a carrier on the back seat.
Flight nanny. If you want the puppy sooner, a trained handler flies with it in the cabin of a commercial flight, in an airline approved soft carrier under the seat, never in cargo. Most of these are finished the same day. From Athens, the airports we would plan a handoff around are DeKalb Peachtree Airport, and Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Yorkshire Terriers clear the twenty pound cabin limit with room to spare. We arrange the health certificate ahead of travel, and the handoff happens at baggage claim. It costs more than ground transport and gets quoted per flight.
Farm pickup. You're welcome to come get the puppy yourself by appointment. The drive up from Athens runs 8 to 10 hours each way, and families sometimes make an overnight trip out of it. You see where the puppy has been raised. We go over the microchip registration, vaccination records, and the health guarantee in person. Once the round trip turns into two long days of driving, ground delivery starts making more sense than the gas.
Every puppy goes home with a bag of the food it has been eating. The method, the timing, and the fee all get confirmed on a phone call once the puppy is reserved.
